An important part of a DJ's job is to create the right atmosphere for the ceremonial cutting of the cake.  Part of that responsibility is playing the right song after introducing the transition to your wedding guests so that they are attentive and caught up in the moment.  When picking out a song, make sure that it reflects your personalities as a couple.  If you are planning on elegance, pick a slow song.  If there is going to be any cake smashing, pick something upbeat.  I personally like humor and would go with Adam Sandler's "Grow Old With You" from the Wedding Singer movie.
